Boating 4 – Near Shore Marine Navigation Level 1 - ONLINE
Suggested Prerequisite Boating 3 (Introduction to Navigation) or Basic Navigation and Boat Handling - Part 2
Details Course material is available online 24/7. This is a cohort-based format with a specific start and end date. You will take this course with a specific group of fellow students. There will be an online meeting one evening per week to answer questions that students may have. You may also have one on one meetings with a local tutor to cover topics that are difficult to teach online.

In addition to handling emergency situations, you will learn more about other aspects of boating, such as advanced dead reckoning, anchoring, collision avoidance, knots & splices, coping with adverse weather, buoyancy & stability, and tides & currents. Students have 24/7 access to course notes, videos, related resource material and knowledge checks. Weekly webinars are scheduled for Thursday evenings 7:00 – 8:30 pm when experienced instructors will lead discussions of what the students have learned and how that knowledge can be applied while boating. The course runs for 14 weeks with an optional mid-course open forum and review evening.Read less
