Do you know what to do if a boat on fire calls you for
help? Can you deal with emergencies on your own boat? Build your
confidence on the water, and make your boating a safe and fun experience, by
taking the CPS Seamanship Course. You will learn how to cope with these
situations, as well as many other aspects of boating, such as relative
bearings, knots and splicing, medical emergencies, coping with adverse weather,
and much more.
This course will carry on from your PCOC, Boating Essentials and VHF Courses into the realm of real cruising, expanding on work you have done with the Magnetic Compass, Bearings, Collision Regulations. You will take subjects such as relative bearings, tides/currents, weather, wind, waves, currents and skills for adverse weather, buoancy and stability, medical and emergencies at sea.
RCAF Trenton Squadron will only be providing mentoring support to local area students enrolled in the on-line Boating 4 Course this year.
