2018 Course Registrations
• Thursday January 18 from 7:00 – 8:30 pm, at the Bay of Quinte Yacht Club. Mark this date on your calendar and come out and join us!
We are hopeful to offer the following courses for our 2018 Winter sessions:
• Boating 1 :Boating Basics Get Your Pleasure Craft Operator Card
• Boating 2 :Beyond Boating Basics More Than Your Boating License
• Boating 3 :Introduction To Marine Navigation
• Boat and Engine Maintenance • Introduction to Weather for Recreational Boaters
As usual, we instruct our class room courses at Loyalist College in the old Pioneer building. Room numbers and exact dates will be provided by January.
These courses span from 2 to 3 nights or up to 12 weeks

Bay of Quinte Yacht Club Main Deck Belleville, Ontario Squadron: Capilano Course: none Recurring Event Emergency First Aid EMERGENCY FIRST AID (RED CROSS)
This is an additional safe boating learning opportunity for
Capilano Squadron Members only
which we anticipate offering in the New Year. It will be run by a professional tutor and your Squadron will be subsidizing part of the total cost of the day.
Emergency First Aid offers instruction on how to think, react and improvise when dealing with life threatening emergencies
Participants will gain Red Cross Certification which includes CPR level B (for infants, children and adults).
During the day you will learn about the following topics, which will also include use of these techniques in Boating Scenarios, such as hyperthermia:
The Emergency Medical System (EMS)
Emergency action principles
Airway emergencies (incl. Asthma attacks)
First Aid for strokes

Take notice that the Annual
General Meeting of the Lakehead Power & Sail Squadron will be held at the
Boys & Girls Club, 270 Windsor Street, Thunder Bay in the Board Room on the
25 th April, 2019 at 1900 hours for the purposes of:
receiving and, if thought fit,
approving the reports of the Officers of the Squadron;
receiving and, if thought fit,
approving the Financial Statements of the Squadron for the 12 month period
ending March 31, 2019, and the report of the Squadron Auditor thereon;
considering and, if thought fit,
adopting the following resolution(s):
……..(any Resolution(s) that may
electing Officers of the
appointing the Squadron Auditor;
considering such further and
other business as may properly come before the Meeting.
The Report of the Squadron
Nominating committee is attached to and forms part of this notice. Under
Squadron Regulation 12.1 any further nominations must be made by way of
petition in writing signed by not less than 5 members of this Squadron who
shall confirm the consent of their nominee to stand for election. The petition
must be filed with the Squadron Secretary not less than two days prior to the
date of this Meeting.
