Restricted Operator Certificate (Maritime)

Details Students will meet in a classroom either 1 evening per week or for an all-day course on the weekend. Printed or Ebook course material will be distributed to the students. Students will write the examination at the end of the course. If the student passes they will receive a temporary certificate.

The Maritime Radio course teaches emergency radio procedures and everyday operating techniques. Learn all about the uses of marine radios, choice of frequencies, operation, phonetic alphabet, procedural words and phrases, as well as Digital Selective Calling and the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System, (DSC/GMDSS). All mariners, including recreational boaters, will want to take advantage of the many features and capabilities of this innovative form automatic radio. Secure your lifeline. Be sure that you and your family take the Maritime Radio course. This complete package will prepare you for the Restricted Operator Certificate (Maritime) with DSC Endorsement examwhich is included as part of this courses. To operate a maritime radio, you need the certificate. It's the law! Note: For optimal ePub readability we recommend PC and Android users download the free ePub reader application calledCalibre. This will be our first in person Maritime Radio Class since March 7, 2020. We are really excited about getting to see students again. Registration will be cut off approximately 2 weeks prior to the class as it is important that you have time to look through the manuals beforehand. This course has the student operating standard VHF radios. In order to have time in class for students to practice radio calls it is required that the student is familiar with course material prior to attending the classroom. This includes learning the phonetic alphabet. We strongly discourage choosing the e-book option.
