Valley Squadron promotes safe boating and provides introductory and advanced boating courses taught by our expert volunteers. Members come from Abbotsford, Mission, Chilliwack, Agassiz, Harrison Lake, Hope and surrounding communities in B.C.'s Fraser Valley.

Our home boating areas, in addition to the Pacific Northwest coast, include the 60 km. long Harrison Lake and the Fraser River.

The Boating Course offered by Valley Squadron is Canada's premier boating course. It covers the fundamentals of boating and meets the requirements for the PCOC card. Students who pass The Boating Course automatically become members of the Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons (Valley Squadron) - Member Benefits.

Pleasure Craft Operator Card - Boat Pro

Chilliwack at Sardis Senior Secondary School - Monday Nights 7PM-9PM, Apr 12, 19, 26, May 3.

Cost: $60

The Approved Boating Handbook and the seminar prepares you for the Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC) exam. The best of the PCOC seminars available, this highly acclaimed seminar was one of the first to be accredited by the Canadian Coast Guard.
Whether you take the seminar or simply use the handbook as a study guide, upon successful completion of the exam, you will receive a one-year complimentary Associate Membership to CPS, with its benefits.

VHF - The Restricted Operator Certificate (Maritime)

Chilliwack at Sardis Senior Secondary School - Monday Nights 7PM-9PM, Apr 12, 19, 26, May 3.

Cost: $60 for members, $70 for non-members.

The ROC(M) is a Canadian Federal government issued certificate that allows you to operate a marine VHF radio. The ROC(M) is required by anyone using a marine VHF radio or other marine radios (each person on the boat who will use the radio needs their own card). There are significant fines if you are found using a VHF or marine radio without your card.
