To operate a maritime radio, you require a Restricted Operator's Certificate (Maritime). It is the law!
This comprehensive and practical course focuses on radio operation technique in addition to emergency radio procedure. Learn all about the uses of marine radios, choice of frequencies, phonetic alphabet, procedural words and phrases. Digital Selective Calling and the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System, (DSC/GMDSS) are covered extensively.
You will receive your operator certificate upon successful completion of Industry Canada's written and oral examination to be held on the final night of the course.
