The Boating Course is designed to help boaters become more knowledgeable and competent.
The course consists of approximately 30 hours of classroom instruction
covering such topics as chart reading, anchoring, handling boats under power and sail,
aids to navigation, use of compass, plotting courses and government regulations.
The course focuses on local waters and includes a student cruise,hands-on classroom work and homework exercises.
The Boating Course is taught by qualified, experienced Norvan volunteers.
Learning comes not only from the CPS course material but also from the instructors� local knowledge and anecdotes.
The exam for the federal government's mandatory Pleasure Craft Operators Card
(PCOC) is included in this course.
This is a 15 week course beginning put on by Norvan Power and Sail Squadron (Norvan ).
On the first night, please arrive by 6:30 PM to complete registration
and pick up course material.
