Carlos Fuenzilada
Tribute to Carlos Enrique Fuenzalida
(Charlie Echo Foxtrot as he was lovingly called)
(1944 – 2014)

I regret to inform you that on Sept. 19, I lost my dearest friend and companion Carlos Fuenzalida. Carlos was born in Valparaiso, Chile and immigrated to Canada in the 1970s. He was retired and devoted his time to Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons ext...ensively having served for 14 years with the organization. He was currently the National IT Chair, and the Web Based System Support at Pacific Mainland District. Carlos served as a boating instructor for years in White Rock Squadron and taught the boating course and instructor’s course and endured himself to all his students as his background was teaching.

His favorite past time would be reading books and best read on a beach in some wonderful holiday place such as Rio, Cancun, Cassis(France)or Palm Springs. He was always current on global politics and history and always had an opinion on all world leaders, situations and issues as he was so well read.

Carlos fought a most courageous battle against cancer but finally has gone on to rest in peace from this brutal disease. Of course he was not ready to leave us but has now joined many of our good friends who have preceded us in life’s journey sailing on to endless soft breezes and calm seas. We of course will meet again one day but in the meantime he will leave a void that cannot be filled except with beautiful memories.

Carlos’s sisters in Santiago and Germany as well as myself and families bid this caring wonderful man Carlos a fond farewell and may he rest in peace. God bless you Charlie.
