Western Ontario District includes the oldest squadrons in the Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons. Over 70 years ago, persons who became the charter members of the first Canadian Squadron crossed over to the American side of the border and took Power Squadron courses in Detroit. They brought back not only the knowledge needed to boat safely, but also the willingness to impart that knowledge to others, to benefit all.

Western Ontario District is composed of 9 Squadrons each providing training in their area.
