CPS ETOBICOKE SQUADRON

Welcome to the website of Etobicoke Squadron, a unit of the Canadian Power & Sail Squadrons. We are located in the west end of Toronto, in the former Borough of Etobicoke where we have been actively involved in the training and education of boaters for over 50 years.

Etobicoke Squadron was created in 2009 from the consolidation of  the Centennial Park and Humber Valley Squadrons with a combined 101 years of experience offering safe boating through education.

As a volunteer organization, our goal is to "increase awareness and knowledge of safe boating by educating and training members and the general public, by fostering fellowship among members, and by establishing partnerships and alliances with organizations and agencies interested in boating".

Check out the links on the far left side of this page to find out more about who we are, what we do, and what courses you can take to enhance your confidence and competence while out on the water. Click on the following link to register on-line for one of these courses:

Unless indicated otherwise, all of our courses are held at Etobicoke Collegiate, 86 Montgomery Road.  Enter the school through Door 5 (south-east corner, lower level) and proceed upstairs to the first level.

In addition to our training program, our Squadron holds a number of social events during the year, such as our annual Christmas dinner/dance, speaker's nights, graduation night, and our Annual General Meeting.  Click on the "Events Calendar" or a link below to get more information.

A new venture that we are involved with is the "Pleasure Vessel Courtesy Check" (PVCC) program.  CPS has been approved by Transport Canada and have trained select members to conduct safety inspections on pleasure vessels.  This is a voluntary program where anybody may request that an inspection be done at not cost to the boat owner.  It is a good way to find out if your boat conforms to the existing laws and regulations.
